The Light Within: Remembering Your Inner Radiance During the Holiday Season

By Caroline Davis, Inner Freedom EFT

This time of year often stirs a mix of emotions — joy, nostalgia, stress, comparison, family dynamics, and the pressure to show up in ways that stretch our energy.

But through all of this, one truth remains:

Your inner light is always present.
Sometimes bright and clear,
sometimes quiet and hidden,
sometimes soft like a candle in a dim room—
but always there.

This week is an invitation to reconnect with that light.

🌙 Why Holiday Stress Dims Our Light

The holiday season activates:

  • old patterns
  • family triggers
  • emotional expectations
  • overstimulation
  • comparison
  • people-pleasing
  • pressure to “be on”

None of this means your inner radiance is gone — only that it’s harder to access.

Your nervous system shifts into protective mode.
Your body tightens.
Your breath shortens.
Your focus narrows.

Reconnection is not about forcing yourself to be positive —
it’s about creating safety, quiet, and space for your inner light to rise.

✨ The Inner Light Grounding Practice

This practice helps you reconnect with your innate brilliance — the part of you that isn’t touched by stress, expectations, or emotional noise.

1. Begin with Presence

Place one hand over your heart and the other on your belly.
Relax your jaw.
Relax your shoulders.
Notice the weight of your body in your chair, and your feet on the floor, supporting and grounding you.

Begin slow breathing:
Inhale for 6 seconds… exhale for 6 seconds.

Let your body know: It’s safe to soften.

2. Imagine a Light Inside You

Bring your awareness to your heart center — a space recognized across many traditions as the home of compassion, wisdom, and inner radiance.

Imagine a warm, golden light glowing there — small but steady, like a candle in a quiet room.

3. Let the Light Expand

With every breath, let the light grow:

  • through your chest
  • into your belly
  • up through your head
  • down your arms
  • through your legs
  • across your back
  • throughout your whole body

Fill your entire being with this warm, steady glow.

4. Let the Light Radiate Outward

Let your inner light gently expand beyond your body:

into the room around you…
through your home…
into your neighborhood…
your town…
across the earth…
and into the quiet vastness of space.

Notice how natural — and even empowering — it feels to allow your light to expand beyond your body.

5. Gently Gather the Light Back In

When you’re ready, imagine the light beginning its return journey — gathering slowly and softly.

See it returning from the vastness of space…
moving back toward the glowing earth…
flowing gently into your region…
your town…
your home…
your room…

And then, let it settle back into your heart center — warm, steady, quietly radiant.

Feel how the light becomes even more yours as it returns.

It didn’t disappear out there.
It simply expanded… and then came home.

Notice again the weight of your body being supported, and your feet grounding you here.

This radiance belongs to you.
It is always present — even when you forget.
And you can return to this light — and strengthen it — anytime you choose.

🌿 A Reflection for the Week

Ask softly:

“What helps me remember my inner light?”

Let the answer be simple:

a song
a breath
a moment of stillness
a boundary
a kind choice

Your light grows through nourishment, not force.

✨ Closing Thoughts

You don’t have to shine brightly to be radiant.
You don’t have to have everything figured out.
You don’t have to show up perfectly.

Your inner light is steady, resilient, and deeply wise — even on the days when it feels quiet or far away.

As you move through this week, may this practice help you reconnect with the warmth at the center of your being.
And may you remember that your light grows not through pressure, but through gentleness.
